Philippe Crisp

Programme Leader for Sport Development and Coaching

About

Prior to starting work at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳ Philippe previously taught elsewhere in Higher Education as well as in the Further Education, Coach Education, and Adult Vocational Education Sectors. Philippe has a strong vocational background and is a qualified FE lecturer, assessor and internal verifier, a coach educator for several NGBs, as well as being a Licensed British Weightlifting Coach. Before working in education he worked in the fields of Adolescent/Youth work, Sports Development, and as a gym instructor/PT.

In addition to this, Philippe also played professional sport for a number of years. Whilst Philippe has played a number of sports to performance level, perhaps of most note is that he was part of the NFL International Player Development Programme and played in a variety of different European and Pan-European leagues as an American football player. Alongside this, Philippe played for Great Britain in Australian Rules football, played national level club qualifiers in Sevens Rugby, and has competed internationally in several strength sports.

Philippe places a great emphasis on community engagement within his University senior lecturer role, and has run numerous sports days, after school clubs, and sports festivals focusing on youth and disability participation in partnership with other organisations including Out There!, Sussex Cricket Club, Brighton and Hove Albion, Boccia England, and Active Sussex
