What is Clearing?
Another way into university
Clearing happens every year and helps thousands of students find the university that's right for them for the upcoming September.
You might find it's the right fit for you if:
- You're applying after 5 July 2024.
- You didn't receive any offers, or you didn't accept any you did receive.
- You are unsure you will meet the condition of your offer(s).
- You did not get the grades you hoped for on Results Day and/or have not been accepted by your Firm or Insurance choices.
- You've decided you would like to apply for a different course or university since you made your UCAS choices.

We appreciate that the actual grades which students achieve are often not the same as their predicted grades. We are interested in potential and have a good track record of recognising that potential and seeing our students go on and succeed in their degree with us.
Our entry requirements (be that A levels, BTECs or others) are more flexible in Clearing. Contact us to explore your options.
How can I apply?
Applying through Clearing
We understand Clearing can sometimes be a confusing and stressful period, and so we want to make it as simple as possible.
Our Admissions team are here to help you through the next steps.
You can either:
- Call our Clearing hotline on (+44) 01243 816001 and apply over the phone.
- Email our admissions team via clearing@chi.ac.uk to apply.
You have until 21 October to apply through Clearing.

We guarantee university accommodation to students coming to the 香港六合论坛 through UCAS Clearing.

So below is our quick guide to the local area; the beautiful city, rolling countryside and stunning beaches.
Top things to do in Chichester
Chichester is a thriving city full of everything you would expect from city life.
It has everything you need 鈥� a cinema, bowling alley, park, shopping, theatre, bars and restaurants.
We are also lucky to be close to areas of outstanding natural beauty, including the South Downs National Park and our blue flag beach at West Wittering.
Top things to do in Bognor Regis
This famous seaside destination has a high street just a short walk from the beach front, with shops, pubs and restaurants.
Fancy a day at the beach? Bognor Regis has a sand and shingle beach which is 915 steps from the campus.
Other attractions include crazy golf, Picturedrome cinema, sailing, scuba diving, the BASE skatepark, local theatres and a nightclub on the pier.

Understand your options as a commuting student
You may prefer to or need to commute to university rather than stay in student accommodation.
With excellent public transport links, student parking rates, and on-campus bike storage, we welcome those commuting through a variety of means.
Cycling to university
- Approximately 160 covered cycle spaces at the Bishop Otter campus in Chichester and 90 covered spaces at Bognor Regis.
- No charge for cycles parked in these spaces.
- Secure storage compounds at both campuses.
- Free access to secure storage compounds on both campuses with your campus card.
Free bus travel for students
- Bus stops at both campuses.
- Free travel on U7 and U8 buses (these also take you between each campus).
- Subsidised travel on Stagecoach 50 bus.
- Travelling by bus helps reduce local congestion and air pollution.
Parking your car on campus
Students who live outside the exclusion zone (1.5 miles radius from their main campus) will be eligible to park on campus.
Parking currently costs 拢1.35 per day for students, with income going towards the implementation of the University's Sustainable travel plan.

Our historic campus set in the heart of the city of Chichester
Our Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester is set in beautiful surroundings with plenty of relaxing green space and a combination of attractive, historic buildings and excellent modern facilities.
Founded by Bishop of Chichester William Otter in 1839, the University still retains a strong sense of history as original parts still remain.
