Natalie Rowland
Programme Leader for Dance, Aerial and Physical Theatre
About
Natalie is a practitioner-researcher working with the Dance Department at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳, specialising in aerial dance and scenography.
As an artist and researcher with an interdisciplinary practice, she finds the crossovers and relationships between dance, aerial, technologies and scenographic practice a fertile ground for exploring the potential of these arts.
Natalie is a professional design member of the Association of Lighting Designers (ALD) and continues her professional practice lighting dance, theatre and live music. Natalie’s work frequently involves non-traditional performance locations, digital media and interactivity.
Currently undertaking a PhD exploring the potential of a choreographic approach to lighting design, Natalie’s research considers the practitioner’s relationship with technology and its impact on the experience and process of lighting.
