About

Luke achieved LLB (Hons) in Law from Birmingham City University and a PGCE in Further Education and Training from the University of Brighton. Luke is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a PGcert in Higher education (Teaching and Learning) From the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳.

Experience

Before entering education Luke held various roles within the legal industry including working for legal charities and in-house legal departments with work including advice and advocacy within:  Housing Law, Immigration Law and Commercial Law.

Luke has taught Law at a range of levels from GCSE to Master’s Level since 2015. Specialising in Legal Education, Luke’s teaching style allows a focused approach on developing effective methods of assessment for learners to help and engage them with understanding assessment.

 

Luke currently teaches across the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law programmes at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳ and is module coordinator across a range of our International Law modules including: International Human Rights Law, International Law and International Environmental Law.

Research

Luke has various research interests in the Protection of Human Rights under International Law. His current focus is on the intricate intersection of Human Rights and International Sports Law, exploring the role and enforceability of these rights within the dynamic landscape of sports on a global scale, with particular attention on the roles played by States and Sporting Governing Bodies.
