Implications for Curriculum Design<\/td>\r\n<td>Materials Development for CLIL Contexts<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Implementing CLIL &#8211; CLIL Methodology<\/td>\r\n<td>Professional Language Development<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n<h4>Programme Content<\/h4>\r\n<p>Our CLIL programme focuses on:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Practical ideas to scaffold content and language in the classroom<\/li>\r\n<li>Planning and supporting language demands: BICS and CALP<\/li>\r\n<li>The place of thinking skills<\/li>\r\n<li>Test instruments and assessment procedures which can be used in the CLIL classroom<\/li>\r\n<li>Review of a range of books, internet and print resources for the participants&#8217; classes<\/li>\r\n<li>Materials development<\/li>\r\n<li>Creating a language-rich classroom environment: word walls, timelines, anchor charts, posters, etc.<\/li>\r\n<li>Cooperative Learning<\/li>\r\n<li>Establishing cross-curricular links: practical ideas to connect Science, Literacy, Arts and Crafts or P.E.<\/li>\r\n<li>ICT resources for the classroom<\/li>\r\n<li>Basic discourse analysis in key curriculum areas<\/li>\r\n<li>Vocabulary-building activities<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>In addition, we will address Classroom Language Improvement and Language for Managing the Classroom.\u00a0 Our programme will include a School Attachment Placement.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"19 Business 1920x1080 30\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/app\/uploads\/2021\/09\/19_-Business-1920x1080-30.jpg\" alt=\"teacher helping business students with group work\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\r\n<h4>Programme Aims<\/h4>\r\n<p>Our CLIL programme aims to:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Explore in practical ways the materials and methodology appropriate to CLIL<\/li>\r\n<li>Consider the qualities and skills required by teachers involved in CLIL<\/li>\r\n<li>Consider the modes of delivery and types of classroom interaction most appropriate to CLIL<\/li>\r\n<li>Enable participants to design content lesson plans taught in English<\/li>\r\n<li>Enable participants to create materials for classroom use in teaching content lessons in the CLIL classroom<\/li>\r\n<li>Build participants&#8217;
