For the majority of courses, you will apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), but it will depend on your course. To find out about your course of interest use our course search, all the information about the course and how to apply can be found on the course pages.

Once we have received your application, we’ll look at it on an individual basis. We like to look at your personal statement, your predicted grades, your reference (your interview, if appropriate) and, of course, your qualifications before deciding what offer to make to you. The typical offers listed on the course pages are a guide and your offer may vary from that.

We recognise the UCAS Tariff point system. Conditional offers may be expressed as either grades or UCAS Tariff points.

Sometimes it is helpful to use the UCAS Tariff so that recognition can be given for taking an Extended Project Qualification or a (fourth) AS level.

The Tariff can also be useful for expressing some flexibility in the grades required (e.g. CCC and BCD attract the same points).

       Further information

If you are applying directly to the university for a part time undergraduate programme, you should submit the following documents with your application form:

Applicants for full-time degrees and foundation degrees should apply through the UCAS website.

When applying for an undergraduate course, you will need to provide one academic or professional reference.

If you have any additional queries about applying or your application please email admissions@chi.ac.uk.

       Contact the Admissions Team

For most courses, applicants are required to write a personal statement and submit this with their application. Your personal statement should show the admissions tutor your enthusiasm and interest in the subject and contain:

Remember that the Admissions Tutor will have to read many personal statements therefore you should try to make your statement interesting and descriptive. For more tips and advice, you can read our personal statement guide.

Contact our Admissions team on 01243 816002 or email admissions@chi.ac.uk

Disclosure and Barring Service, Enhanced Disclosure and Occupational Health Checks
           Expand
Successful applicants to courses which involve contact with children or vulnerable adults are required to obtain, at their own cost, a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Applicants for Professional and Statutory Body Regulated programmes such as Physiotherapy or Teacher Training are also required to demonstrate ‘fitness to practise’ through an occupational health assessment.

The University reserves the right to refuse admission and/or terminate the registration of any applicant or student whose DBS and/or occupational health check proves to be unsatisfactory. Any applicant with a relevant caution or conviction, is strongly advised to discuss this with the Admissions Office.

How to Apply – Undergraduate Find out how you can apply for your course Once you’ve chosen the perfect course for you, it’s time to apply!
