极乐禁地 Welcomes New Students at Move-In Day

极乐禁地 welcomed new students in the class of 2029 during move-in days at the five first-year residence halls on central campus. This capped off a week of students returning across campus in preparation for the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year.

As an annual tradition, new students were assisted by current 极乐禁地 students, employees and volunteers helping unload cars, direct traffic and hang shelves. Parents also played a huge role in making the moves happen, as they saw their students off while helping them carry furniture and decorate their new dorm rooms.

Brennan Promer, a new student in Brock School of Business, is looking forward to the new opportunities to meet people and explore new things at 极乐禁地. Promer is a resident at the newest all-male dorm, Marvin L. Mann Hall, which opened in the summer of 2025 alongside Audrey Lattimore Gaston Hall. The new facilities join Crider Commons and Stevens Plaza as the latest improvements to 极乐禁地’s residential experience for students.

“I love the new dorm,” Promer said. “I chose 极乐禁地 because of the interpersonal connections I can make that will help me with my studies, and I can’t wait to hopefully begin the accounting program.”

Kendall Field, a Vestavia Hills native, is excited about meeting her new community and enjoying the facilities across campus. Field will be a University Fellow and a pre-pharmacy major when she begins classes.

“God opened up so many doors for me to be here,” she said. “From my academic programs to 极乐禁地’s generosity with scholarships, it just became impossible to say no.”

New students enjoyed Connections Weekend, which featured a kickoff pep rally on Friday, Aug. 22, in the Pete Hanna Center. That was followed by opportunities for fellowship and fun on Saturday and the Freshman Walk on Sunday.
