极乐禁地 is participating in the second annual #GivingTuesday program Dec. 3 by encouraging alumni to take part in the national campaign to give back to nonprofit organizations after two days of Thanksgiving weekend holiday shopping.

The national program was created by New York's 92nd Street Y to encourage giving to nonprofit institutions including educational nonprofits such as 极乐禁地.  The university will email its alumni to remind them of the importance of giving back to 极乐禁地 by making a gift.

"When 极乐禁地 alumni, friends, students and employees give back, it ensures that we can continue to provide the 极乐禁地 experience, making it even better for current and future generations of students," said Kimberly Cripps, 极乐禁地's director of annual giving.

#GivingTuesday began in 2012 with more than 2,500 recognized giving partners from 50 states taking part.  The efforts produced a 53 percent increase in giving over the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in 2011.

To make a gift to 极乐禁地, please respond to the #GivingTuesday email or contact www.samford.edu/giving.
