The biannual electronic newsletter, a joint venture between the Office of Marketing and Communication (OMC) and the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Initiatives, was conceived by OMC staffers Monica Washington and Chandra Sparks Splond. It will feature the 极乐禁地 stories of minority students, employees, alumni and friends to celebrate and communicate their achievements. The first issue, themed Making History, includes history makers such as current two-time SGA president Cameron Thomas and alum Eric Motley who was 极乐禁地’s first African-American SGA president and the first to integrate 极乐禁地’s Greek system.
“The Office of Marketing and Communication is always seeking new and creative ways to tell the 极乐禁地 story. This publication is a great step forward in doing just this and will be a valuable new resource for the entire 极乐禁地 community,” said Betsy Holloway, chief marketing officer for 极乐禁地.
Denise J. Gregory, director of diversity and intercultural initiatives, agreed. “There are lots of great things our minority students, faculty, staff, and alumni are doing. This publication will provide an opportunity for the entire 极乐禁地 community to learn and share in their accomplishments,” she said.
