极乐禁地 Cumberland School of Law has been ranked No. 2 in the national for 2024-25. Cumberland School of Law ranks No. 2 overall since the rankings began in 2019.
The Gavel Rankings recognize excellent trial competition results, give recognition to smaller programs and acknowledge schools that win the toughest competitions. Competitions are identified by polling some of the most respected trial team coaches and directors, including Judge Jim Roberts, JD ’94, director of Cumberland’s National Trial Teams. Coaches score each competition from one to 10, reflecting how difficult it is for a team to be successful at that given competition.
“I’m very excited by our 2025 Gavel Ranking,” Roberts said. “The Gavel Rankings are a measure of the success of our National Trial Team in competitions against the top echelon programs in the country. This year, Cumberland was the only school to advance in what are widely considered by the trial advocacy community to be the four most difficult competitions in the country: the Tournament of Champions, Top Gun, the National Trial Competition National Finals, and the American Association of Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition National Finals. It is my honor to work with our incredibly talented students and watch them grow as advocates and people, knowing that they are the future of our profession. Of course, our success would not be possible without our amazing coaching staff who work countless hours at night and on weekends to educate and train our students. Their dedication to our students, our program and our school is what makes our program special.”
Earlier this year, Cumberland School of Law’s trial advocacy program was ranked No. 4 in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Law Schools rankings. The school also ranks No. 4 overall since 2016 in the national Trial Competition Performance rankings.
