Tutors will report to the elementary coordinator as they provide academic support in the areas of math and English language arts for elementary students. Tutors will implement the curriculum provided by the Elementary Coordinator as they work with students one-on-one or in small groups of 2-3 students.

Oak Tree Ministries' Tutoring Program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30, starting in late August or early September. Applicants must be available for both Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-5:00. 

Federal Work/Study earnings will be paid biweekly in the form of a check or direct deposit payable to the student. This award does not credit to the account of the student as payment toward University charges.

• Proven work experience as a Tutor or similar role;
• Demonstrates dependability, reliability, flexibility, patience, and problem solving skills;
• Ability to teach basic reading and math skills and support students' learning;
• Willingness to receive trauma-informed training and use trauma-informed approaches to student behavior;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Humility to be teachable and culturally sensitive;
• Ability to take supervision and correction constructively;
• Ability to positively supervise students;
• Recommended experience working with kids from hard places.
