Dr. Lee received her doctoral degree from the University of California Los Angeles, a Master of Philosophy from Yale University, and a Master of Arts from the University of California Davis.
Dr. Lee has over a decade of experience in higher education as a faculty and program administrator. Her areas of expertise include foreign language pedagogy, intercultural studies, and curriculum and instructional design. Dr. Lee has lived and worked internationally, developing innovative programs for learners of Spanish, English, and Korean. As an educator, Dr. Lee believes in the transformative impact of global education and language studies, equipping her students to reach their full potential and success in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
Her research explores the intersections of second language acquisition, cultural diaspora, and diplomacy in global education. Her latest working manuscript examines the traditional discourse concerning global learning outcomes in higher education and proposes a framework revision to refocus its priorities in alignment with the mission, identity, and vision of educational institutions.
Dr. Lee has served on multiple institutional committees throughout her career, including the General Education Curriculum Committee and the faculty-elected Personnel Committee. In 2021, Dr. Lee was elected Vice President of the Christian Association of World Languages. In 2023, she was appointed as President of the same organization for a two-year term.
